2017-18 Secondary School Course Catalogue

Students are currently in the process of Course Selections for 2017-18.  Course Selection sheets can be downloaded from "Forms & Downloads" tab or at the bottom of this page:

  • Grade 7 & 8 Course Selection sheets are due to Humanities teachers February 17;
  • Grades 9 Course Selection sheets are due to Humanities teachers February 23;
  • Grade 10 & 11 Course Selection sheets are due to Advisory teachers Feb 28.

The courses offered at GW Graham Middle-Secondary follow guidelines set out by the Ministry of Education and the Chilliwack School Board.  Students should consider the requirements carefully when selecting  in order to ensure their requirements for graduation are met, and also to meet the entrance requirements for post secondary. Selecting both required and elective courses is an important process and should be carried out in consultation with  parents/guardians. Students need to be familiar with the course offerings and plan ahead. If you have questions, please contact school Counselor or Career Advisor.

NOTE: All elective courses are subject to sufficient enrollment. Courses will only run if there are sufficient students requesting the course.  As well, the timetable is built based on student selections, and therefore there may not be space available in a course if a student requests a course change after the timetable is complete.  So it is strongly recommended that students choose with consideration.  Students are requested to select alternative (or 2nd) choices in the event that they are not able to get into a first choice selection, so again, careful consideration needs to be put into 2nd (alternate) selections.  Every effort will go into scheduling students' first choices.

Students in grades 9-11 attend a Course Fair on February 17 so that they get a flavor of course offerings. Students have receive a 3 year "plus" planning sheet (grey) to facilitate their course planning,with "plus" referring to the year following grade 12, so that they can plan for entrance requirements for post-secondary options (work, trades, college and/or university paths).  Students are encourage to check PSI (Post Secondary Institutions) for entrance requirements regularly as requirements do change.  To check entrance requirements to BC PSIs, check out www.educationplannerbc.ca
